The purposes of this research were to evaluate and tocompare physical education programs of secondary schools inBangkok Metropolis. Population were 132 heads of PhysicalEducation and Health Education sections or representatives, 100of them from public secondary schools and 32 of them from theprivate secondary schools. Charnchai Chobthamasakul's evaluationmodel for quality of physical education programs was used as aninstrument to collect the data. The data were then analyzed interms of means, standard deviations and percentages. The t-test,one-way analysis of variance and Scheffe were also employed todetermine the significant of mean differences and multiplecomparisons respectively. The findings were as follows: Comparing with nationalnorms, the quality of physical education programs of medium,large, extra large secondary schools, were considered at "goodlevel", 53.80, 63.90 and 66.70 percents, respectively. And whencompared with Bangkok Metropolis norms, the quality of physicaleducation programs of medium secondary schools were considered at"good level" 50.00 percents. The large and extra large secondaryschools were considered at "moderate level" 50.80 and 44.00percents, respectively. The quality of physical education programs between publicand private secondary schools in Bangkok Metropolis weresignificantly different at .05 level in all and in each aspect ofthe management and service in facilities and equipments, andintramural program. |
