Fuzzy control is an alternative for controllingprocess. It does not require exact mathematical model in thedesign of control system but imitates human determinationusing imprecise control law. In this thesis, a computerprogram --running on a microcomputer-- is developed in orderto study fuzzy control. This program serves as a controlsystem, which is capable of being PID controllers or a fuzzycontroller, for small processes. User can enter control lawfor a fuzzy controller in form of the predefined if-thenform. Using this control system, the control of a laboratoryscale heat-exchanger plant has been implemented. Theresulted time responses of fuzzy control are better thanthose of PID control. |
