In the Vector control method, a squirrel cage induction motor is controlled like a separately excited DC motor. That is to separate out the component of the motor current responsible for producing the torque and the component responsible for producing the flux in such a way that they are magnetically decoupled, and then control each independently so it can achieve the good dynamic performance. Vector control has two control loops, the outer loop is speed control and the inner loop is current control. The PI controller for Current Controlled Voltage Souce Inverter (CC-VSI) is usually employed in adjustable speed AC drive. In this thesis, fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is proposed to control CC-VSI. It has some advantages such as, no need transfer function of system to design the controller, giving robust performance under parameter variation, wide frequency range to control, simple mathematics function to calculate and giving a good dynamics performance. The comparison between PI controller and FLC are presented by computer simulation and laboratory test results with the induction motor 2 Hp, 4 poles and using digital signal processor (DSP-chip) ADMC 331 , switching frequency 5 KHz. |
