พฤติกรรมการจัดการมูลฝอยติดเชื้อของบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ในโรงพยาบาลเอกชน กรณีศึกษาโรงพยาบาลธนบุรี 1 และ โรงพยาบาลธนบุรี 2 THE BEHAVIOR OF MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS IN PRIVATE HOSPITALS REGARDING INFECTIOUS WASTEMANAGEMENT : A CASE STUDY OF THONBURI 1 AND THONBURI 2 HOSPITALS.
The purposes of this study are 1) to determine the level of behavior of medicalprofessionals regarding infectious waste management. 2) to investigate the factors influencingthe behavior of medical professionals in private hospital with respect to infectious wastemanagement. 3) to look into the problems and obstacles including the implications involvinginfectious waste management of medical professionals in private hospital. The sample consisted of 275 medical professionals who work in Thonburi 1 and 2 hospitals.A self administered questionnaire was used as an instrument to collect data. Data analysis usedapplied statistics percentage, mean, standard deviation and One-Way analysis of Variance.Furthermore, the researcher conducted an in depth interview and observation. The results showed a moderate level of infectious waste behavior of medical professionalsin private. hospital. Factors affecting behavior of medical professionals. concerninginfectious waste management in private hospitals were: knowledge received about infectiouswaste management showing a statistical significance at 0.01, attitude toward infectious wastemanagement showed a statistical significance at 0.05. Major problems were ignorance of thesignificance of infectious waste management and lack of knowledge and understanding aboutinfectious waste management. Recommendations are to create a proper infectious waste behavior training program inorder to provide the appropriate knowledge and awareness concerning infectious waste managementbehavior for medical professionals. The training should consist of all aspects of infectiouswaste management in practice. Constant monitoring and evaluation are necessary for promotingeffective infectious waste management control.
