The objective of this experimental research was to formulate and implement an environmental education curriculum on community forest conservation at secondary school. The research was conducted in 3 stages as follows. In the first stage data were collected by training, need assessment, and reviewing documents. A test of this research tool was held with 25 leaders in the community. The second stage envolved curriculum design which included the establishment of objectives, selection of concepts, identification and selection of contents, identification and selection of training methodologies and the development of the evaluation techniques. The third stage was the implementation and evaluation of the training curriculum. The curriculum was implemented by using environmental education process for a sample of 30 trainess who received 2 days training. The program was evaluated by testing the trainees knowledge, scale of attitudes and satisfaction with the training. Statistics used for data analysis were descriptive statistics, percentage, mean, mode, and analytical statistics, t - test. The result of the program evaluation showed that the trainees knowledge increased and the attitude toward the community forest improved significantly at the level 0.05. The trainees were satisfied with the environmental education training curriculum. |
