Administrative Section Chiefs are responsible for logistics management in community hospitals. The trends of problems they experience in logistics management will remain well in to the future. This cross-sectional study addresses logistics management as proscribed in Office of the Prime Minister on Procurement Regulations B.E. 2535. This study was performed from February to April 1999. 250 Administrative Section Chiefs in community hospitals provided data through questionnaires. The data was analyzed by using Chi-square. The findings of this study indicate a lack of uniform practices in following with Procurement Regulations. Statistical significances in factor relationships between planning and responsibility of motivation, hygiene, interpersonal relationship of hygiene, attitude towards supervisor, attitude towards colleagues, and duration of government service were found (p < 0.05). The results of this study, suggest that it is necessary to regulate policy planning in procurement and control through inspection and evaluation. Second, programs should be established to improve responsibility, interpersonal relationships. attitude towards supervisor and colleagues of Administrative Section Chiefs in community hospitals by using basic qualification that must be achieved before assuming higher position. Finally, the Administrative Section Chiefs, and the directors of community hospitals should be trained in logistics management in community hospitals under Office of the Prime Minister Procurement Regulations. |
