The objective of this research is to study the livingstyle and condition of Khonkaen University students which willfocus on their problems. satisfaction, and needs relating totheir residence. The studying and data collection have been conductedthrough questionairs by stratified random sampling method. Thesampling is distributed according to the student's gender, groupof faculty, and academic year. The result of this research can beconcluded as follows : 1. Most Or the students including thenon-priviledge students are living in dormitory. 2. The rest ofthe students are living off campus apartment where the rental ishigher than on campus. The problems of the students living indormitory can be ranked by the following priority : 1. Thesecurity of properties. 2. The noise pollution. 3. Theavailability and the comfortable of the restroom. The students have most satisfaction on dormitory locationwhich is very convenience for transportation. In addition, somestudents comment that the university should pay more attention onthe students' living condition. The students don't have theresponsibility of the campus's facilities and don't follow to therules and regulations. For the non-dormitory student, the majorproblem is their transportation difficulties. The criterias for selecting residence can be prioritized asfollows : 1. The security 2. The cost of expenditure 3. Thecomfortable and convenience of the residence. The research shows that the dormitory is more suitable forthe students than the off campus apartment. The number ofdormitories are not enough to serve the student demand. Thedegree of student satisfaction for the dormitory is low formanagement and administration. The need of the students forsolving their problems can be prioritized. 1. Increase the numberof dormitory to cover the student's demand. 2. Increase therooms' space and better campus facilities. 3. Pay more attentionon the student's securities and properties. |
