The primary purposes of this research are to observe theoverall population characteristics of the study groups, and tostudy the transferation of the ideas and messages through thechannel of folk media "shadow play". The target population forthis research are local residents of Nakhon Si Thammaratprovince, Thailand. A comparison study of the target samplinggroups was performed by focusing on sex, age, occupation andeducational level. These groups were studied in order to manifestthe informative influences produced through the "shadow play"channel. Restriction of this study is concerning with thereception of health information. For the research conduction, a set of questionnaire will beemployed with interview technique. Sampling population are thenatives living in the area of public health in Nakhon SiThammarat province more than 5 years. They must ever listened toor watched "shadow play" at least 10 times. The last perceivingof shadow play must not be more than three months before theinterview. The results of the research present that most of the"shadow play" audience are between 46 to 55 years old withelementary education. Their main occupation is agriculture. Byaverage, they encounter with shadow play performance more than 31times. Respectively, most of them attended the shadow playperformance on the stage, from television, and radio. However,their sexes, ages, and occupations show differences in receivinghealth information. |
