This study has the objectives of finding some characteristicspatterns, distribution, sizes and growth trends of industrial areas insuburban area of Muang Nakhon Ratchasima. The study also analyzed theproblems and trends of city changes resulted from industrial developmentand urban expansion. The study also presents recommendation guidelines forlocating and ordering industrial zone corresponding to residentialdevelopment in the suburban of city of Nakhon Ratchasima. Results of the study found that factory location in suburban NakhonRatchasima could be characterized two types: Ribbon or SpontaneousDevelopment Pattern and Planned Industrial Pattern. Factors affectingdecision making on selection of location consist of transportation,infrastructure and public facilities. Priority areas for industrialdevelopment are areas in Sura-Naree district, Nong-Rawiang and Nong-BuaSala district ome agro-industries, which were important in the past, hasalready declined both in terms of factory number and production. Newreplacing industries are Chemical and Plastic Industry, Iron and SteelIndustry and Electricals Electronics Industry. This study has recommended Nong-Rawiang area as suitable for theestablishment of new industrial estate.This location is the most suitablelocation for promotion of industrial development plan. It locates behindthe Highway No. 224 (Ratchasima-Chokchai). In order to integrateindustrial activities as well as preventing pollution from productionprocess, the buffer zone between industrial and residential areas are alsorecommended in this study. |
