The purpose of this experimental research is to study the efficiency of the instructional package developed by the researcher for the teaching Thai folk song: "Thep Thong" to Prathomsuksa students in a Thai elementary school. The study consisted of 76 Prathomsuksa V students in classes 5/2 and 5/3 of B.E 2542 academic year at Anubalhanka School. The experiment was done in 9 periods (20 minutes each). The data was collected from a pre-test, a post-test and the observation of practical singing of Thep Thong by the students. It was found that the result of the test was 92.01/85.82 which was higher than stipulated rated at 80/80. The statistics prove that the subject groups who studied the instructional package developed their knowledge and understanding of learning the Thai folk song: Thep Thong. The results of the pre-test and post-test were significantly different at the level of .01. The mean of the score in Thep Thong singing was 92.21 which was in line with the stipulated criterion. The score of the singing skill was above 80%. This research indicates that this instructional package is valuable for teaching Thai folk songs. |
