The purposes of this research were (1) to study the opinions of specialists in Nakhon Pathom province toward the contents of the course SOC 071: Our Community 1 for the lower secondary level in Nakhon Pathom province, (2) to study the opinions of social studies teachers who taught the courses SOC 071: Our Community 1, SOC 072: Our Community 2, and SOC 073 : Our Community 3 in secondary schools under the Department of General Education in Nakhon Pathom province toward a course Syllabus of SOC 071: Our Community 1 for the lower secondary level in Nakhon Pathom province, and (3) to construct a course syllabus of SOC 071: Our Community 1 for the lower secondary level. The samples of this research comprised 50 specialists in Nakhon Pathom province and 30 social studies teachers in secondary schools under the Department of General Education in Nakhon Pathom province. The research instruments included 2 sets of questionnaires. Data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, and percentage. Research findings were as follows: (1) the specialists agreed on the contents of the course SOC 071: Our Community 1 for the lower secondary level in Nakhon Pathom province, (2) the social studies teachers agreed on the components of the course syllabus of SOC 071: Our Community 1, and (3) the course syllabus of SOC 071 Our Community 1 was suitable for implementation in the lower secondary schools in Nakhon Pathom province.
