The purpose of this research was to develop and measure the efficiency of a Computer Assisted Instruction for Teaching Thai Language on "Classifiers" Non-Native Speakers of Thai, to compare the learners ability before and after using it, and to study learners attitudes towards the program. The sample consisted of ten non-native speakers of Thai, who learn Thai at the beginner level. They were required to learn Thai classifier lessons independently for two weeks. The instruments used for gathering data were 1) the CAI lessons on Classifiers lessons 2) an achievement test, used as a pretest and posttest, and 3) a questionnaire on learners opinions towards the CAI program. Percentages were used to measure the efficiency of the CAI program. The paired t-test was used to assess the learners achievement. Moreover, the means and standard deviations of questionnaire items were used to evaluate the learners attitudes towards the programs. The finding of the study can be summarized as follows: 1. The efficiency of the CAI program was 76.67/78.33 which indicated a good level. 2. On average, the learners achievement learning classifiers after using the program was significantly higher than before using the program. 3. Generally, the learners had good attitudes towards the program. |
