The purpose of this research is to study the mate selection method,mate selection values, and change in mate selection method in the past andat present of Thai Muslim males in Mahanak mosque community atPomprab-Sattrupai district, Bangkok by the methods of Document research,Anthropological fieldwork, ten Key informants interview, and 100 sets ofsurvey comprising of 50 single male aging between 17-35 and 50 married maleaging between 35-70. The research has fog and that most Thai Muslim males themselvesselect their mates by weighting on female who has the same specifications,such as religion, age, educational status and taste. In general, there is no obvious change for mate selection at presentand in the past. Nowadays it is likely that Thai Muslim male who willselect mate pay attention to their loves, closeness and good looking oftheir mate which are different from the past. The most obvious change fromthe past is the role and influence of elder relatives has been graduallyreduced. |
