This study was designed as a survey research project. The purposes were to study the level of knowledge and behaviors of students at Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat Institute on environmental conservation of cultural heritage as divided by the variables of sex, domicile, academic year, academic section, being a member of an environmental club, grade point average, information received and judgmental value of cultural heritage. ( Meaning of environment of cultural heritage: the surroundings and atmosphere around historical sites and antiques, including historical sites and antiques themselves).The relationship between that knowledge and behaviors, influential factors as well as some problems and recommendations were also analyzed. Data were collected by using a test form and questionnaires. The samples consisted of 400 students at Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat Institute. The data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square and Pearsons Correlation Coefficient. The results were as follow: 1. The majority of the samples have knowledge regarding the environmental conservation of cultural heritage at a high level. Such knowledge significantly depended on sex, academic year, academic section, being a member of an environmental club, information received and judgmental value of cultural heritage at 0.05 statistical significance level but did not significantly depend on domicile, grade point average at 0.05 statistical significance level. 2. The majority of the samples have desirable behaviors regarding the environmental conservation of cultural heritage at a high level. Such behaviors significantly depended on academic year, academic section, being a member of an environmental club, judgmental value of cultural heritage at 0.05 statistical significance level but did not significantly depend on sex, grade point average and information received at 0.05 statistical significance level. 3. The knowledge and behaviors of students at Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat Institute on environmental conservation of cultural heritage had a positive relationship. In this research, we found that more than 50.00% of the students has knowledge and behaviors in respect of environmental conservation of cultural heritage at low or medium level. So the organizations related to environmental conservation of cultural heritage should approach the problems by planning, promoting and providing knowledge about environmental conservation of cultural heritage to the greater extent. That way, the environmental conservation of cultural heritage would be effective and sustainable. |
