This study empoloyed the analytical descriptive method of Research using the survey technique to comparative study between technical knowledge and practical skills of graduated students in auto-mechanics according to curriculum provided and the current work in Bangkok area. The sample group compiled 431 graduated students in auto-mechanics from 88 service stations and 63 teachers from 6 vocational institutes. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires classifying the technical knowledge in terms of general basic, basic mechanics, and analyzing mechanical objections and practical skills. The statistical treatment of the data was the use of both descriptive and inferential statistics, such as percentage, mean, and standard deviation to described the data. The nonparamatric statistics was sign test to test of the hypothesis. The finding indicated that : 1) the three areas of technical knowledge in terms of general basic, basic mechanics, and analyzing mechanical objections of the curriculum provided were moderated, but there are high used in current working condition; 2) there are significant difference between the technical knowledge in the curriculum provided and the used in current working condition; 3) the practical skills of graduated students were moderated in curriculum provided, but there are high used in current working condition; and 4) there are significant difference between practical skills in curriculum provided and used current working conditions. |
