The problem of Thai writing of the students in Anuban Chiangmai School was the incorrected spelling in many words which caused the achievement to be quite low. So the researcher conducted a study to search for appropriate method to solve such problem. The purpose of this study was to compare the achievement in Thai spelling for Prathom Suksa Two in Anuban Chiangmai School between the using of a Learning Package developed by the researcher and the using of a Conventional Teaching Method. The sample comprised of 80 Prathom Suksa Two Students in the second semester of the 1994 academic year. The samples of two classroom students were randomly selected from eight classrooms. Then they were randomized into 2 groups; the experimental and the control group. There were 40 students in each group. The experimental group was assigned to study through the learning package developed by the researcher while the control group was assigned to study through the Conventional Teaching Method. Each group is designed to study 30 periods, each of which was 20 minutes. The Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design was used in the study. The instrument used for collecting data was the achievement test in Thai spelling. T-Dependent and t-test were used for data analysis. The findings were as follows : 1. The achievement after learning of the experimental group that learned through a spelling Learning Package was higher than before learning and in the same way the achievement after learning of the control group that learned through the Conventional Teaching Method was higher than before learning too. 2. The achievement of the experimental group was higher than the control group and significantly different at the .01 level. |
