The purpose of this research was to compare theusing of LISREL Program and AMOS Program to analyze thepath analysis of elementary school teachers' jobsatisfsction model. The poppulation consisted ofelementary school teachers who work in the fourtheducational region, the office of the national primaryeducation commission in 1996 academic years. Mailquestionnaires were employed. Datas were analyzed bydescriptive and bivariate statistical analysis throughSPSS/PC, and path analysis with latent variablesthrough LISREL Version 8.10 and AMOS Release 3.51. The results indicated that: 1. LISREL Program and AMOS Program provided theequal of model validation such as the Chi-squaregoodness of-fit test of 6.15;p=.977,df=15,R=.009,GFI=.995 and AGFI=.983. 2. LISREL Program and AMOS Program provided theequal R-Square of observed variables and endogenouslatent variables. 3. LISREL Program and AMOS Program provided theequal parameter estimators of the measurement model. 4. Parameter estimators of the structuralequation model from using AMOS Program differ fromusing LISREL Program, the parameter estimators fromAMOS Program are larger. 5. AMOS Program was obtained by Total Effects andDirect Effects with only the Direct Effects hadsignificance test whereas LISREL Program, the TotalEffects, Direct Effects and Indirect Effects all hadsignificance test for the effects. 6. Lisrel Program provided more outputinformation whereas Amos Program was more convenientand easier to use than LISREL Program. |
